This is something I think about a lot. I don't think people really have to respect the artist wishes, but if you can't sit through a whole album, you probably don't like that artist too much. I think people cheat themselves a lot of the time not letting the whole album sink in, but then again a lot of artists aren't into it themselves. I edit down or cherrypick a lot of albums, and I like shuffling sometimes to get into stuff I forgot about, but it can make you numb and you can't even tell what you like anymore. old post comments, yes.
